A Payment GateWay for Latam#1569

There is no Payment Gateway for Latam.

“Mercado Libre” has a presence throughout Latin America.

I was just about to request this feature when I came across this request. Mercado Pago is widely used throughout most of Latin America, and this integration would open the door to Trafft being used by businesses across most of the continent. Also, in many countries, such as Argentina and Colombia, payment gateways like Stripe are not available, so Mercado Pago is a great option. I have tried to offer Trafft to businesses on occasion, but because they are unable to integrate Mercado Pago to charge their customers for services, they decide not to use the software in their businesses, which makes Trafft difficult to sell in Latin America.

Please consider this integration, as it would be highly beneficial to Trafft, local agencies, and businesses across Latin America.

I don’t think Mercado Pago is the best option.

1. is not across all LATAM, I believe there’s only 6 countries available.
2. You need to be located on one of the countries to open an account.
3. You can’t use the account other than the country you create your account with, this is not a problem for local business but it is if you offer digital services or consultation.
4. Commissions are big, some categories get to 8%.

It is probably a well known gateway for Latam but that does not make it the best. I prefer they look at some thriving fintechs, working in LATAM but with a global visión to open LATAM to the world.

EBanx, dlocal, Meru, Rapyd may be some other possible solutions to look at.
