
It would be great if when the schedule is busy people can add themselves to a waiting list and receive a notification when an appointment is free

Allow registered customers to be able to pick dates and times they want to watch, so they can snap up dates and times if someone reschedules or cancels at those times.
This is what Nearcut offer and it helps their barbers fill cancellations. Basically the barbers end customers select dates and times they want to get their haircut and when the slot becomes available they can book the slot. This is what I’m thinking for Trafft. Something simple…

@Aleksandar Vukovic see above. Waiting list is an industry standard amongst many booking systems such as Nearcut, Book in Beautiful, ovatu.com and many others.

Hi Oliver! We’ve incorporated the waiting list feature into our plans, but we can’t specify a completion date at this time.
I would like to offer a service (specifically a course for a group ~10/15 ppl, but with no date (just the day and time of the day) since the group would start only when there are 10/15 ppl gathered.
so they would make a deposit and than when the group is full it would start - that would be an amazing option - hard to find elsewhere. Also it would be great if I could inform the ppl that are waiting of the progress, since this is a mental health group it should show only the number of ppl already subsribed but with no personal data.
@Aleksandar Vukovic I see that you posted about the Waiting List on Amelia’s idea board. Does that mean you are also in the early stages of developing this for Trafft?
My needs are simple, if someone reschedules/cancels an appointment those who are “waiting” are emailed about the opening. First come, first serve for who gets it. I wouldn’t want it to overbook if the appointment had groups enabled.
A nice to have, and perhaps for v2 of the waiting list, would be the ability to let those “waiting” to pick one or multiple dates and/or times - like a range - and if any appointments in that range of dates and/or times is suddenly available they get notified to snap up the appointment.
I would be very glad if this could exist so the client can be informed if someone frees a spot when the planning is full.
Allow the waitlist to offer customers the option to enter their credit card details to be automatically charged when their chosen time slot becomes available.
The system could give priority on the waitlist to those customers who opted for automatic charging over those who chose not to.
To encourage customers to opt for automatic charging, they will be shown the number of people on the waitlist for each time slot, and a message informing them of this benefit, for example: “Add your credit card to get priority on the waitlist and automatically reserve your preferred time slot.” Once the card details are added, show them their position in each selected time slot (if possible, select different preferred days/times). If payment is successful, do not notify other users on the waitlist.
If the first user’s card fails, notify them via SMS with a link (and 15 minutes) to change the card details and make the payment. If payment is not made within the allotted time, move on to the next credit card user on the list, and so on, until there are no more credit card users on the waiting list for that time slot and you must notify the others.
Make this feature not only optional, but mandatory, if the business so chooses. Businesses that charge for appointments online, or those that want to ensure payment for a new appointment in a time slot that has already been previously cancelled, will appreciate it.
@Marija Maksimovic is this coming in 2025, can your devs at least confirm that? It’s completely unacceptable that the waiting list hasn’t been worked on and launched sooner. But I’ve almost given up on it at this point.

Once that’s ready, we’ll reassess our priorities.

I wish this was a feature already
I am a big fan of Trafft and the agency tier. New feature waitinglist — This feature would be absolutely desirable. I just organized an event with 50 participant spots. Now all spots are taken. Anyone trying to book now has no alternative and becomes a lost customer. How great would it be if newly available spots didn’t remain empty or go to a random visitor who happened to be on the page at the right time after a cancellation? It would be much better and fairer if available spots didn’t stay empty and instead were offered to people on a waiting list. And in any case, we’d have the contact information, and the customer wouldn’t feel left out in the cold.
